High cholesterol is one of the leading causes of major diseases like heart disease, stroke and diabetes. In a word, it’s dangerous. But so are the many medications typically prescribed like Lipitor, which has numerous nasty side effects. Is Royal Honey a safe and effective alternative to common and dangerous prescription medications?
These Side Effects Are Crazy
If you’ve recently been told by your doctor that you have high cholesterol and must begin taking a prescription drug, WAIT! Have you done your homework and researched any potential side effects of said medication?
Since Lipitor is one of the most common cholesterol-lowering medications prescribed, let’s take a quick look at the side effects listed on their web site as common:
Lipitor Side Effects:
- Upset Stomach,
- Liver Damage
- Kidney Damage
- Muscle and Joint Pain
We see this all the time. Big slick ads for a new and “wonderful” prescription drug on television that claim to cure everything from high cholesterol to diabetes to depression, heart burn and erectile disfunction. Then inevitably, that soft, quick voice at the end lists the nasty side effects, which sometimes even includes death.
Now I don’t know about you, but I seem to recall hearing something about the Hippocratic oath doctors make to “do no harm” to their patients. Something seems amiss in the medical community if we are so reliant on prescription drugs that make us even sicker in some instances.
Fortunately there are many natural alternatives available to us that really do cause no harm.
Lower Your Cholesterol with Royal Honey
Not only are there natural alternatives to Lipitor, some, like Royal Honey, have even been validated by scientific research. For instance, a study conducted by a group of researchers in Japan examined the effects of Royal Jelly (one of the main ingredients in our Royal Gold Honey) on cholesterol levels in 15 human volunteers.
Half of the study participants received 6 grams of Royal Jelly per day for 4 weeks. The control group received a placebo.
After the 4 weeks, the participants that took the Royal Jelly saw their total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL – or Lousy cholesterol) decreased significantly.
While that is good news, I think most of us would agree taking 6 grams, or 6,000 mg, of Royal Jelly would not only be inconvenient but could also become quite expensive. Why did these researcher choose 6 grams? Who knows, but it’s a lot.
Luckily another study proved a lesser amount is also effective. In this one, 40 participants received only 3150 mg, or roughly half the amount of the first study, per day for 30 days.
And once again, total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) levels were reduced significantly after administration of Royal Jelly.
Though the exact mechanisms of these changes are not known, researchers noted that that 3 months of Royal Jelly supplementation considerably improved DHEA levels ( a hormone produced by the adrenal glands). This increase they believe is what led to the reduction of bad cholesterol levels and decreased risk of heart disease.
It should also be mentioned that, unlike Lipitor, Royal Jelly did not cause liver or kidney damage. Maybe bees have taken a “do no harm” oath as well, and they really mean it!
What Does This Mean for You?
What’s incredible about these studies is that they were human and not animal studies. This is pretty strong validation that Royal Honey (Jelly) is a safe and effective alternative to common cholesterol drugs.
We recommend you talk with your doctor about trying Royal Honey, then start off slowly. Study participant took 3,000 mg per day, but you may want to start off with just 1,000 and work your way up.
We also recommend you buy a quality Royal Honey as not all on the market are a pure source.
